Endocrinology while researching the translational medical science of how
obesity relates to cholesterol metabolism in humans. He was awarded
a prestigious Johns Hopkins University Clinician Scientist Award (CSA) for
his research in 2009.

Dr. West went to medical and graduate school as part of the combined M.D./Ph.D. program at the Texas A&M University during 1995-2003. He has been invited as a faculty reviewer for various medical journals including Medicine, Diabetes, and The International Journal of Endocrinology.

As many patients know, and according to recent research published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, there is a dramatic shortage of well-trained clinical endocrinologists throughout the United States. The opportunity to fill a vacant niche as a private endocrinologist in downtown Washington,DC, became apparent and prompted him to take the opportunity to found The Washington Endocrine Clinic, PLLC, in an effort to provide Endocrine care to the many patients in the downtown area who are currently without an Endocrinologist.
